During general discussion the Riviera Beach Planning & Zoning Board received staff and member announcements about upcoming training and community programs.

Staff reminded members that the Planning Officials training (Treasure Coast section of the American Planning Association) is scheduled for the coming Friday and asked interested board members to email staff for registration. Additional board-specific training on the comprehensive plan and zoning codes will be scheduled later.

Chair William Wiley and other members described community offerings: an ACT/SAT preparation program running Saturday mornings at the Riviera Beach Library (transcript contains inconsistent references to the program name as "AppleStar" and "AlphaStar"), a Revere Beach Youth Council town hall, and a Thanksgiving giveaway at Jay's Ministry (2831 Avenue). Board members also reminded residents about the city’s community grant program (maximum $5,000 per nonprofit or resident for the second round) and encouraged applications.

Staff confirmed the next Planning & Zoning Board meeting is Thursday, December 11. The meeting was then adjourned.
