The Chemung County Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) approved several routine and business items at its Nov. 13 meeting and heard updates on the arena closing and lease interest at 17 Aviation Drive.
Minutes and finance: The board approved the Oct. 9 minutes and voted to accept the October financial statements. Staff (Speaker 2) reported operational pressures driven by arena utilities and ongoing repairs, including ice-plant work and marquee sign installations. Staff said the arena-related utilities expense could be about $60,000 if the agency closes in November and noted insurance-related reimbursements and a final payment from CVS of approximately $132,000 expected to show up next month.
Check ratification: The board ratified a NYSEG electric bill for the arena in the amount of $31,750.29 as presented by staff.
Evolve Aerospace: Staff reported interest from Evolve Aerospace in leasing space at 17 Aviation Drive. The board authorized the chairman, staff and counsel to begin the 90-day disposition/notice period when a formal offer acceptable to staff is received so the process can proceed without waiting for a subsequent meeting.
Executive session and adjournment: The board went into a brief executive session to discuss the possible acquisition, sale or lease of real property and securities where public discussion could affect value, and returned with no action taken before adjourning.
