The Akron City Council on Monday adopted an emergency ordinance to authorize funding and collection necessary to implement adjustments to compensation and health care benefits for the city’s nonbargaining, classified and unclassified employees.

The ordinance (Item 2a), offered by Mayor Malek and Councilman Lombardo, was reported favorably by committee and council voted to suspend the rules so the matter could be considered immediately.
