Charlottesville school board elects new chair, adopts consent agenda

The Charlottesville City Schools board completed its annual reorganization at the start of the meeting, electing Emily Dooley as chair and Amanda Burns as vice chair and appointing Leslie Thacker as clerk and Julia Green as deputy clerk.

The board moved to adopt the meeting agenda and later approved the consent agenda by voice vote. No roll-call vote counts were recorded on the public transcript; each motion received a second and was carried by the ayes called during the meeting.

Board members thanked outgoing officers and welcomed the newly assigned clerks. The reorganization and consent items were placed before the board at the meeting’s opening and carried without additional substantive debate.
