Castle Rock Phase 3 review continues; sanitary staff supports gravity feed to avoid temporary lift station

The Town of Saint John Plan Commission received an update on Castle Rock Phase 3 (2025-11) during its July 2 study session. The applicant reported engineering and plat materials have been submitted and are under review by town staff.

Town staff and the applicant said survey and engineering reviews are ongoing. Staff noted some materials were received this week and that the plat is under review by the town surveyor and engineering team.

Town staff reported that sanitary staff "is happy with the gravity feed," and said that, if accepted, the gravity feed would eliminate a temporary lift station on Decklyn Court once the permanent lift station is built. The applicant also said an auto-turn exhibit (hammerhead turnabout) was sent to the fire department for review.

No formal action was taken at the study session. The commission and applicant expect to return to the commission on the 16th pending outstanding reviews.
