Council unanimously approved the first reading of ordinance 25-13 to update code language in the architectural review standards, replacing the term "formula retail" with "formula business" to align with an earlier ordinance.
On Nov. 3 the Whitefish City Council approved on first reading ordinance 25-13, which amends sections 3.1 and 5.9 of the city’s architectural review standards by replacing the term "formula retail" with "formula business."
City staff explained the change is technical and intended to align the architectural review standards with an ordinance the council adopted earlier in the summer that had renamed the category. The Community Development Board (soon to be called the Planning Commission) held a public hearing on Oct. 16 and recommended unanimous approval; no members of the public spoke at the city hearing on Nov. 3.
Councilmember Rebecca moved to amend and approve the ordinance on first reading; the motion was seconded and passed by unanimous voice vote.
