Dorothy Sieminski, President of the Dorchester County Cemetery Board, called the meeting to order and the board approved minutes from the Sept. 29 open session and the Oct. 20 work session during the meeting's opening business.
The approvals were taken together after a motion and a second; members present recorded unanimous support and the chair declared both sets of minutes approved. Board members present at roll call were Dorothy Sieminski (President), Eric Windsor, Karen Talley, Chief Donna Abbott and David Beverly; two members (Bridal Benjamin and Joe Era) were absent.
The board also set its near-term meeting calendar. Members agreed to meet Nov. 17, Dec. 29 and Jan. 26, with regular meeting hours of 4 to 5 p.m. The group said it will revisit the schedule after presenting materials to the county council in February. Staff and members noted that meeting recordings can be used in place of written minutes when coverage is limited.
The session included brief administrative updates: one absent member reported he had reached out to Henry Funeral Homes and will provide a status update at the next meeting, and members discussed basic coverage for upcoming meetings (who can run equipment and who will take minutes if staff are unavailable). The meeting was adjourned after routine business.
