Representatives from the Foundation for Learning — Erica Rendell (chair) and Diane Phillips (executive director) — presented the foundation’s recent financial contributions: roughly $46,000 returned to schools last year (including innovation grants, scholarships and student needs); cumulative giving since 2007 totaled about $655,000 with 219 innovation grants and 36 scholarships. They promoted the foundation’s Big Event fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 8 (7–11 p.m., Austin's Fuel Room) and invited community participation and donations.
No board action was tied to the presentation; foundation leaders spoke to inform the board and community about foundation-funded programs and upcoming fundraising.
