During the public-comment period on Oct. 30, community members addressed several items to the board.
Sherina Del Raw announced a Trick-or-Trunk community event scheduled for 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. the following day and invited board members and residents to attend. She thanked the board and community for previous participation and asked families to come early because candy runs out quickly.
Ian Jones, a parent, said his son Cameron was suspended in an incident that has remained pending for about 40 days and asked for clarity on the timeline for the suspension hearing. Superintendent Glover directed Jones to staff members present (identified during the meeting) who could provide next steps and follow-up.
A district staff member thanked the school community for support following a recent family bereavement, saying several central-office staff and colleagues had checked in and offered condolences.
The public comment period closed after these speakers. The board noted that comments regarding students and employees are discouraged at public comment for legal reasons and said not all public comments receive immediate responses; follow-up may occur after the meeting.
