Student board representatives briefed the board on recent student engagement work and upcoming presentations.

Titus Lee, a second-year student board representative, said the student-led focus group brings together leaders from across the high school and district to gather student feedback and address a sense of disconnection. "We compiled leaders from across the high school and the district," Lee said, describing plans for a comment box to provide an accessible means for students to submit feedback.

Connor Doss summarized scanning comments that indicated students wanted more school spirit, clearer information about clubs and more meaningful connections between schoolwork and the real world. He said requests included a cooking and baking club and interest in girls' flag football. Another student rep, Nahir, reported on attending Montgomery County Education Service Center meetings and noted the Future Readiness Index and the district's experience with graduation seals.

Student reps said they are preparing a joint presentation for the Ohio School Boards Association on Nov. 17 with neighboring districts and plan to present at a larger conference in February. They said they will report back to the board after those presentations.
