The Fall River Licensing Board on Oct. 30 approved one-day permits allowing beer and wine at multiple Saint Michael's School events at 206 Essex St., the board said.
Saint Michael's representative Shana Labold told the board the requests are for recurring school and church functions, listing dates of Nov. 8 and Dec. 7, 2025, and Feb. 7, March 21, May 23, May 30 and May 31, 2026. "These are only beer and wine," Labold said. She described the afternoon event as "like a nativity play and luncheon" and "a little bit more low key."
Chair Greg Brilliant noted that a sign-up sheet for public comment was available at the start of the meeting and that no one had signed up. After brief questions about timing and the type of alcohol to be served, a board member moved to approve the permits. The motion, made by Noah and seconded by Chair Greg Brilliant, was approved by voice vote after members present answered "Aye"; the board did not record individual roll-call votes.
The board did not place additional conditions on the permits during the meeting, and there was no public comment or formal opposition on the record. The meeting ended with a motion to adjourn.
The permits are for specific single-day events listed above; the board's approval was a procedural authorization for those dates and did not include additional licensing or operational details in the public discussion.
