The House Tourism & Economic & Recreational Development Committee on a voice vote reported three ceremonial resolutions out of committee unanimously after brief sponsor remarks.
Representative Khan spoke for House Resolution 326, which recognizes Dec. 1, 2025, as Young Involved Philadelphia Day. "Young Involved Philadelphia is a civic organization, nonpartisan, that encourages young people to get involved in civic life," Khan said, describing the group's civic-engagement and leadership-training work and noting his longtime involvement with the organization.
Representative Marla Brown spoke in favor of House Resolution 353, designating October 2025 as Italian and Italian American Heritage and Culture Month. Brown said New Castle in Lawrence County has one of the most concentrated Italian-American populations in the commonwealth, cited a local culinary tradition she called the "Sunday sauce trail," and noted that local companies founded by Italian immigrants—Zambelli Fireworks and Pyrotechnico—helped build the area's identity. "My parents and my grandparents are both Italian," Brown said, and cited ancestry figures she presented for her district.
Josh, a committee staff member, read the titles and numbers of the three resolutions for the record and identified House Resolution 329 as recognizing October 2025 as Arts and Culture Month in Pennsylvania.
Chair Daley asked whether there were any negative votes on the package. Seeing none, the chair announced, "We will report all 3 of the resolutions out unanimously." The transcript does not record individual roll-call votes for these resolutions.
