At its meeting, the Annandale Public School District Board of Education approved a set of routine and programmatic items by voice vote.
The board approved a high school Europe trip requested by high school art teacher Holly Dehu. Dehu said she currently has 37 students signed up for a 10-day itinerary to London, Paris, Venice and Rome and noted the district uses the tour company EF; the teacher said the program previously carried 41 students in 2024. Board member Jen moved approval; Gina seconded and the motion carried by voice vote with no opposition.
Members approved the Minnesota State High School League's "emerging status" school commitment form for girls wrestling, a procedural step toward establishing girls dual-varsity competition and separate state tournament access. The board also approved two Minnesota State High School League Foundation grant applications (Form A for participation-cost support and Form B for seminar/training costs). Motions were moved and seconded as recorded in the minutes and carried.
The board adopted the October resolution accepting donations (motion by Jen; second by Jenna) and approved the district's annual assurance of compliance with state and federal nondiscrimination law (required submission by Nov. 15). The board also completed a policy review and approval for six items: Policy 506 (student discipline), a 506 student-discipline suspension form, "public and private personnel data" (changes highlighted), Policy 506 employee release of information form, Policy 407 "employee right to know" exposure to hazardous substances, and Policy 408 "subpoena of a school district employee." Gina moved approval of the policies collectively; Melissa seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.
Motions recorded in the meeting were completed by voice vote when a mover and seconder were present. The transcript records unanimous "aye" outcomes and statements such as "motion carries," but no roll-call vote tallies were provided in the transcript for these items.
