The Holmen School District Board of Education approved the district's original 2025-26 budget and certified a total tax levy of $23,263,467 at its regular meeting. Trustees approved the items on a single consent agenda vote after the finance director reviewed the proposals.
Julie Homan, the district's executive director of finance and operations, said the original budget and the recommended certification of the tax levy had been presented earlier at the annual meeting and the budget hearing and would appear on the consent agenda for the night. "The recommendation this evening would be to adopt the, take action and adopt the original budget for 25-26," Homan said.
Homan told the board the recommended total tax levy was $23,263,467 and that it was distributed among the general fund, the debt service fund and the community service levy as recommended. Board members raised no questions during the presentation.
The consent agenda, which included the 2025-26 original budget and the tax levy certification, was approved by voice vote. The presiding officer announced the motion passed after those present responded "aye." The board had seven members present for the vote.
The board did not take separate roll-call votes on the budget or levy; both were approved as part of the consent agenda. Homan noted the items had been through the annual meeting and the budget hearing prior to tonight's meeting.
