Carrollton and Deerfield elementary school leaders presented their 2025–26 school improvement plans to the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District Board on Oct. 27, highlighting assessment trends, instructional priorities and student-support strategies.
Carrollton principal Mr. Kenwood said the school serves roughly 360 students and described progress on statewide (Forward) and STAR assessments. He noted strengths in overall achievement and attendance, and identified growth (especially in math) and the need to help more students meet their projected end-of-year scores as key priorities. Carrollton’s plan emphasizes weekly 60-minute PLC meetings, use of vetted ELA interventions (Heggerty, decodable readers), three teachers holding reading licenses, and deployment of ST Math and Read 180 for targeted supports. Carrollton set a district PBIS goal (positive Dojo points) as a measure of school climate.
Deerfield principal Jim Rohn and assistant principal Eileen Aldrichs described Deerfield’s community and supports for students with significant disabilities; they highlighted family engagement events (color run, pancake breakfast), a buddy-class program, and SEL strategies. Deerfield’s priorities mirror Carrollton in focusing on raising math growth and reducing disproportionate referrals and exclusionary discipline for student subgroups. Administrators described expanded staffing and a new guidance counselor to support interventions.
Board members asked about checkpoints and measurement. Presenters said the district’s January STAR administration will provide a formal midyear checkpoint, and that teams already meet regularly to analyze interim data and recommend grade-level interventions. Both principals stressed early identification through universal screening and ongoing progress monitoring as the basis for adjusting interventions.
The presentations were informational; no board action was taken. Trustees praised staff and asked administrators to continue to report progress.
