St. Charles Parish Council opened the public hearing on the proposed consolidated operating and capital budget for fiscal year 2026, file number 2025-0161, and heard presentations from parish agencies and outside entities before taking a series of budget actions.

The council voted unanimously to approve several transfers and technical corrections after staff identified a typographical error in a USDA housing grant line. Councilman O'Daniels moved to transfer $50,000 from the general fund to Fund 113 for IMTT playground equipment; the motion passed unanimously.

The council also approved multiple housekeeping amendments to the budget document, including renaming Cross Bayou to Cross Bayou Pump Station and updating department titles to "Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness."
