The Carbondale City Council voted to enter executive session to discuss setting a price for the sale or lease of property owned by the public body, citing the Illinois Open Meetings Act exception that permits such discussion in closed session.

Council member Kilman moved to enter executive session for that purpose; Council member Roberts seconded. The clerk called the roll and the motion passed by unanimous vote.

City staff reminded the council that any formal action following executive-session discussion would take place only after returning to open session and would include a public recital of the nature of the matter to inform the public, as required by state law.
