Cal Fire provided the Lake Elsinore City Council with its third-quarter statistics covering July 1 through Sept. 30. Chief Reid reported incident totals, response-time averages, types of calls and the department’s inspection and plan-review activity.
Chief Reid said the jurisdiction ran a total of 885 incidents during the quarter and reported an average response time of about 4.5 minutes, which the chief noted is below the 5-minute National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) benchmark cited in the presentation. Station-level call counts were identified: Station 10 (330 calls), Station 85 (McVicker Park) (547 calls), Canyon Hills Fire Station 94 (513 calls) and Rosetta Canyon (quint) (345 calls. The chief listed specific incident categories including seven residential structure fires, 151 traffic collisions and 32 vegetation fires, with the remainder categorized as medical aids. Mutual aid tallies included assistance given to Canyon Lake and from neighboring cities; the chief summarized automatic- and mutual-aid exchanges.
The Office of the Fire Marshal reported 139 plan reviews with an average turnaround time of 10 days and roughly 307 inspections completed with a 2-day average turnaround. The department also described community outreach, including station tours for a Future Leaders program where students learned about fire service careers, teamwork and readiness.
Councilmembers thanked fire personnel for their service and the chief took questions about operations and outreach. There was no formal action attached to the presentation; the item was informational.
