An Athletics representative told the Stadium Authority committee on Oct. 30 that the team is actively engaged across the community with youth sports support, classroom reading events and philanthropic drives, and that the group averages multiple community events each week.
The representative said, “It's not always about how much you give, it's about being present,” and described work that includes support for little leagues and classroom deliverables. He said the team has been at festivals and other public events and cited recent activity delivering “school classrooms in a box” to Iverson Elementary School and participating in a Feed the Funnel event at Wynn.
The representative introduced Stephanie Gaywood as the Athletics’ senior director of community engagement and community affairs; attendees were told Gaywood moved to the area within the last few weeks. Committee members praised the team’s visible engagement and suggested additional outreach channels, including presenting a future update to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority board.
Committee member Angela Castro asked whether Athletics filters or prioritizes requests as community needs grow. The representative said the organization focuses on pillars such as youth sports but emphasized trying to be “as present as possible” across the community.
