At a regularly posted meeting, the Oklahoma County Board of County Commissioners selected option 2 as the branding for a new master plan covering the county's unincorporated areas.
Planning Department presenter said the planning commission and staff reviewed three logo options and recommended option 2, describing it as a rolling-hills look with wheat imagery that reflects both rural character and expected growth in unincorporated areas. The presenter said option 1 emphasized a more agricultural/farm setting with windmills and horses and was considered less viable as the county continues to develop.
"The planning commission, they had selected option number 2, and they were okay with option number 3 as well," the Planning Department presenter said. "Staff is in agreeance with the planning commission as far as option number 2 being our first selection, and then option number 3 being a backup."
Commissioner (District 1) moved to adopt the recommendation, and the motion was seconded and approved by the board. The record shows all three commissioners were present for the vote.
County staff provided a sample title-page mockup showing how the chosen branding would appear on plan documents. Commissioners did not request additional branding options and indicated support for adopting the planning commission's recommendation.
The decision affects the visual identity for the master plan documents and materials for future public outreach and printed/online plan pages. The planning staff will proceed with the recommended branding elements for plan production and outreach materials.
Provenance: Planning Department presentation and discussion appear in the transcript beginning when staff introduces the three options and ends when the commissioners voted to approve option 2.
