The Harpers Ferry Town Council voted to approve the snow-removal contract for the 2025'1026 season as presented, including sidewalk snow removal and use of a lesser-cost salt option.

Councilors and staff had previously deferred final endorsement to discuss specific contract language and follow up with contractor Ken Shayer. After a teleconference with Shayer and internal review, councilors said earlier concerns were addressed and moved to approve the contract at the Oct. 29 special meeting. The motion passed on a 4-0 vote.

Councilors also noted a separate item on rescinding an ordinance will be discussed at the November meeting; no rescission action was taken Oct. 29.
