At its Jan. 2 meeting the Metropolitan Development Commission granted multiple continuances for zoning petitions and acknowledged a petitioner withdrawal.

Staff asked the commission to continue two petitions to the Jan. 15 hearing pending receipt of commitments: 2024 MOD-022 (3985 Meadows Drive) and item 7 identified as 2024 ZON-080 2nd amended (3720 East Washington Street). The commission voted 6–0 to continue both matters to Jan. 15, 2025.

A petitioner, David Wilson, asked that petition 2024 ZON-124 be continued because of a lack of internet access; the commission granted the continuance to Jan. 15 after confirming a remonstrator and the petitioner were available on that date.

The commission acknowledged a withdrawal of 2024 ZON-100 (amended) at 3550 Division Street after the petitioner’s representative submitted a withdrawal; the chair noted the item was withdrawn from the docket.

The commission continued several additional petitions: 2024 ZON-097 (item 8, petitioner Tony Vagato of Arbor Homes) was continued to March 5, 2025 at the petitioner’s request and with staff's concurrence; petition 2024 ZON-050 (3739 North Kittley Avenue) was continued to Feb. 19, 2025 at the petitioner’s request. Staff also requested and the commission granted a continuance for 2024 ZON-127 (6018 North Keystone Avenue) to Jan. 15 to allow notice requirements to be met; the petitioner confirmed the sign was reposted and staff stated the petitioner and a remonstrator were aware of the continuance request.

The chair announced each continuance by roll call; the transcript records each continuance as carried by unanimous vote of the commissioners present. Several petitioners and remonstrators were present for the continuance requests and the commission confirmed scheduling availability before granting the continuances.
