The Downtown Dallas Development Authority board voted to place quarterly meeting dates on the calendar for 2024 as a placeholder and instructed staff that meetings will be canceled if no business requires board action.

Under the approved schedule, meetings are to be held on the first Thursday of the first month of each quarter at 11:00 a.m., with the understanding that staff will provide at least 72 hours’ public notice when a meeting is scheduled. Staff told the board it can also call special meetings with the same posting rules if action is needed outside the posted dates.

Board discussion noted that the board historically met more frequently when project activity was high and that a quarterly placeholder provides flexibility while preserving the option for additional special meetings. A motion to approve the quarterly schedule as a placeholder was made, seconded and carried unanimously.

Staff will circulate a calendar invite for the year and will post or cancel specific meetings according to the presence or absence of agenda items.
