The Town of Brownsburg Board of Zoning Appeals conducted several routine and formal actions at its meeting on Jan. 13, 2025.

Elections: The board elected Jeff Humphreys as president, Marlon Webb as vice president and Paola Rahni as recording secretary for 2025. Each nomination was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.

Minutes and findings: Members voted to approve the Nov. 13, 2024 meeting minutes. The board also approved findings of fact for BZSE‑24‑45907 (Pitt Road) after a motion and second; the chair announced the motions carried by voice vote.

Procedural waiver: Prior to the QuikTrip hearing, the board voted to suspend an internal rule of procedure to address a late publication of notice in a local newspaper; staff had noted that the Indianapolis Star notice was timely under state law but a local publication missed its intended date.

Rules adoption: The board approved Resolution 2025‑1 BZA, adopting updated rules of procedure. Staff said the rules were updated to align with other advisory bodies and to fix minor edits; the resolution was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.

Sign variance: In a separate, substantive hearing the board denied BZDV‑24‑9290, a QuikTrip request for a 60‑foot, 138.2‑square‑foot off‑premise price sign at 9290 Corrugated Avenue (see separate article).
