Appearance Commission announces winners of Selma’s 2024 Christmas decorating contest

The Town of Selma Appearance Commission announced winners of its 2024 Christmas decorating contest at the Dec. 16 meeting and encouraged residents and businesses to enter next year.

In the business category, second place went to Selma Jewelry and first place to HTR Southern. In the residential category, second place was 1005 Douglas Court and first place was 408 North Pollock Street, described by the commission as highly decorated and visible at night near the elementary school.

Commission members praised the entries and encouraged residents who did not enter but had notable displays to sign up next year so they could be judged. There was no formal vote or funding decision tied to the contest announcement; the event is an annual community program managed by the commission.
