Representatives of the Ritter Center told the Marin County Board of Supervisors on Monday that the nonprofit's new facility at 800 A Street in San Rafael will expand medical, behavioral‑health and case‑management services for residents living in poverty, and asked the board to consider county capital support to complete the project.
Cynthia Lamons, speaking for Ritter Center, said the agency serves more than 2,300 people a year and that the new site would allow an increase in integrated primary and behavioral health offerings and housing support services. Lamons asked the board to "consider reprogramming dollars from the general fund toward our capital campaign" and said Ritter Center also applied for $50,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to help finish construction.
County staff took the request under advisement during the budget workshop and noted the broader discussion on one‑time allocations and reprogramming that will take place in the spring budget process. Supervisors thanked Ritter Center for the long‑standing partnership and said the request would be reviewed alongside other capital priorities.
