The Caroline County board approved temporary alcohol licenses for three Chamber of Commerce events at the Cal Barn and Culinary Center, and a Downtown Denton Main Street appreciation event. Conditions such as ID checks and wristbands were discussed.
The Caroline County Board of License Commissioners on Feb. 26 approved multiple temporary licenses for upcoming community events, including three Caroline County Chamber of Commerce events and a Downtown Denton Main Street meet-and-greet.
Tracy Snyder, under oath as the applicant for the Chamber, described three events at the Cal Barn: a Timeless Toast cocktail party scheduled for March (application listed 4 p.m.–7 p.m.), Rock the Barn on July 12, 2025 (3 p.m.–10 p.m.), and Mac Mactoberfest on Oct. 25, 2025 (11 a.m.–3 p.m.). Snyder said Timeless Toast would be a catered, ticketed, cash-bar cocktail party held inside the Cal Barn; Rock the Barn would be outdoors with beer and wine and several food trucks; Mac Mactoberfest would be beer-and-wine only with wristbands and a fenced area at 512 Franklin Street in Denton.
Jessica Willoughby testified for Downtown Denton Main Street about a Meet-and-Greet on March 27, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the visitor center; Willoughby said the event would be 21-and-over with a cash bar and that Red Light Liquors would supply the alcohol.
Board members asked about ID checks, wristbands and whether liquor would be served; applicants confirmed they will check IDs and use wristbands for 21-and-over events. Each temporary-license application was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board approved the Chamber’s Timeless Toast, Rock the Barn and Mac Mactoberfest applications and Downtown Denton’s Meet-and-Greet. Each approval included the usual condition that sellers check identification and comply with county rules and any applicable state requirements.
