The Muskogee Public Schools Board of Education moved into executive session Tuesday to discuss personnel recommendations and returned to open session to approve six personnel items.

A board member motioned and the board voted to enter executive session to consider personnel matters described on the agenda as items A through F. In open session the board reported that "all members of the Board of Education were present" and that Dr. Jared Mendenhall was asked to participate in the executive session. The meeting minutes state the session was authorized under Oklahoma Statutes Title 25, Section 307(B)(1), which permits executive sessions for discussions of employment, resignation or termination of personnel.

After the executive session, the board returned to open session and approved items 12 A–F by voice vote. The public transcript records the approval but does not disclose the specifics of the personnel recommendations discussed in executive session.

Board officials stated that only the listed personnel items were discussed and that no votes were taken while in executive session. The board adjourned after completing the remaining agenda items.
