The Board of Public Health and Safety on April 2 authorized the chief to execute a two-year janitorial services contract with Well Done Services LLC for the fire department headquarters, with total compensation not to exceed $72,000.

Captain Rick Fawcett, representing the fire department and facilities management, said the new contract follows a bidding process and replaces a long-standing incumbent. He said the department selected the company because it "had really excellent references." Fawcett told the board the contract covers cleaning at the fire department headquarters and that the vendor is a new contractor for that work.

A board member asked whether the firm is an XBE; Fawcett replied, "I believe so." Another board member clarified the facility is the department headquarters. The board moved, seconded and unanimously approved the item.
