League City tourism staff told the CVB on April 16 that the bureau will begin a subscription to Destination International’s economic-impact calculator to measure visitor spending tied to events and tournaments.

Staff presented February hotel performance metrics: occupancy of 62.4 percent (down from the prior year), an average daily rate (ADR) of $109.78 and RevPAR of $68.52. Staff noted February and early-spring months tend to be slower and that March and the spring tournament season typically drive spikes in occupancy.

On short-term rentals, staff said they submitted a follow-up report from a short-term rental audit to the city auditor; the auditor is expected to present an update to the council at an upcoming meeting. Staff said short-term rental counts fluctuate as properties are taken offline for noncompliance or added to the registry and that World Cup 2026 hosting and other large events may increase short-term rental listings.

Staff also reviewed web and app metrics: the outgoing site and new site produced strong traffic, and the city’s travel app recorded 49 new downloads in recent reporting. Staff said the CVB will use the Destination International tool to generate more precise economic impact estimates for events such as White Linen Night and ballpark tournaments.
