The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency on March 31 adopted Resolution FPRA 25-04, appointing Dee Boucher Johnson as interim FPRA director. The resolution was introduced by staff and approved by roll call vote.
The resolution designates Johnson as interim director, repeals conflicting resolutions and establishes an effective date for the appointment. The resolution text presented to the board said the appointment was intended to provide an interim official to lead FPRA operations while the board considers longer-term staffing and reporting arrangements.
Board members did not raise substantive questions before moving to a vote. The roll call recorded Commissioners Gaines, Johnson, Taylor, Broderick and Chairwoman Hudson voting yes; the motion passed unanimously.
The appointment comes ahead of further workshop discussion later in the meeting about the long-term structure of the FPRA director position and whether that role should remain linked to the city manager or exist as a separate position reporting directly to the FPRA board. Staff said the item was intended to provide continuity while the board continues those discussions.
