The San Antonio City Council on May 1 proclaimed 2025 the 35th anniversary year of the CE Group, recognizing the firm’s role in producing major events in San Antonio and its charitable contributions.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg read a proclamation that noted the company’s founding in 1990 (originally titled Clever Endeavors), named city and national events the firm has produced — including the 1993 grand opening of the Alamodome, NCAA Final Four events, Spurs championship parades and work at Pearl — and said the CE Group would donate $350,000 in charitable, sponsorship and in-kind support and provide $3,500 gifts to three local nonprofits celebrating anniversaries in 2025.
Janet Holliday and CE Group staff accepted the proclamation. Councilmembers who have worked with the firm praised its attention to detail, event-management role for Visit San Antonio and contributions to tourism and the local economy. Several councilmembers noted longstanding relationships with the firm and thanked staff for sustained collaboration on city events.
The recognition was ceremonial; no city funding or policy actions were attached. Councilmembers said the firm’s work has boosted San Antonio’s national profile and supported local nonprofits through event-driven donations and partnerships.
