The San Francisco County Rules Committee on April hearing recommended reappointing Andrea Crawford to Seat 1 on the Citizens General Obligation Bond Oversight Committee and continued action on the committee's Seat 3 to the call of the chair.
Andrea Crawford, who told the committee she is a District 3 resident and the founder and CEO of a small business, said she has held Seat 1 for three years and asked to serve another term to see several large bond-funded projects through to completion. Crawford described the 2016 public health and safety bond as “a complex, bond project with six components,” and said most projects are nearly complete but that work at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital — identified as Building 5 — remains active. She said the bond program covers 19 bond-funded projects encompassing 206 locations and told the committee most work should finish by mid-2026.
Crawford told the committee she had served as vice chair of the oversight committee for more than a year and has been liaison for the 2016 bond. She said several Building 5 projects were delayed during and after the COVID-19 pandemic because of overseas supply delays and that the work “has really ramped back up” over the past year. Crawford also asked the committee to consider diversity on the oversight panel, saying she is currently the only woman and that there are no African American residents serving on the committee.
Tita Bell, addressing the committee on behalf of Supervisor Danny Sauter, urged the committee to support Crawford’s reappointment for continuity so she can finish the work she has been involved in.
Chair Shamone Walton moved to recommend Crawford for Seat 1 to the full Board of Supervisors; the committee agreed without objection. Consideration of the Seat 3 nominee, Minh Chang, was continued to the call of the chair. Under the clerk’s earlier announcement, items acted on by the Rules Committee are expected to appear on the Board of Supervisors agenda on 2025-05-06 unless otherwise stated.
The recommendation will go to the full Board of Supervisors for final action.
