The Wasatch Front Regional Council on Oct. 23 approved routine amendments to the fiscal‑year 2026 budget and accepted the fiscal‑year 2025 audit, which returned an unqualified opinion with no findings.

Amy Winder Newton, a council member and chair of the budget committee, presented the budget amendment as an annual reconciliation action that reflects carryover and timing changes from the previous year and project closeouts. Marion (Marianne) Florence, WFRC finance staff, and the budget committee reviewed the amendments and recommended approval.

After opening a public hearing (no public comments were received), the council voted to adopt the FY26 budget amendments. The council also voted to accept the FY25 external audit; auditors issued an unqualified opinion with no material findings or questioned costs, according to staff. Councilors thanked finance staff for the clean audit and the committee’s review.

Staff said routine budget amendments will be implemented by WFRC finance and that the council will continue to receive regular financial reports. The council set its next meeting schedule and closed the meeting.
