District staff updated the Bolivar R‑I Board of Education on capital projects including Liberator Park, a new agricultural facility, building additions and the Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC).
Mike Pitch, a district staff member who presented the capital projects update, said the Liberator Park building is essentially complete and the district has taken possession of the keys after a final walkthrough. “This facility will be fully operational very soon,” he told the board.
On the new Agriculture building, Pitch said the structure is now conditioned, interior block walls are being painted, drywall work is underway, paving is complete on the northeast side, and the garage door is installed. He said crews were finalizing a detention basin and that sidewalk work was included in the scope.
Additions at other sites are at the roofing stage; Pitch said once roofs are complete, interior work can accelerate. For the ECLC project, concrete work was scheduled to begin Oct. 27 and the metal building delivery was expected in November, a milestone Pitch said would move the project into its next major phase.
No board action was taken on the capital updates; staff described remaining touch‑up work and scheduling for forthcoming milestones.
