Commenter 1, a public commenter, said, "A unified soccer tournament. It's awesome."
Commenter 2, a public commenter, said the event included broad school participation: "We have soccer here with, all of our 9 high schools are represented. Very wonderful weather. Couldn't ask for a better day."
Speakers described the event as an effort to include students with disabilities in school athletics. "Kids that have special disabilities that they want to be like just everyone else. And so they came up with Unified Sports. And that's why we're here, because people supported it. I feel really happy because they're cheering me on," Commenter 1 said.
Commenter 2 said support from other students extended into schools: "It spreads into the school. We had great support from cheerleaders, from student body officers, other students just to come out here and cheer on their fellow, students."
Commenter 1 described personal enjoyment of the sport and the social aspects: "I play in Chamfer. It's my favorite sport I do. All my friends hockey and Sydney swimming on out here. Scoring the goal and being with your teammates. If you score score a goal, I feel you could feel that rush of energy, rush of excitement."
Commenter 1 also said some participants had not previously had a chance to play organized sports: "I really never got to play this kind of sports before. Never in my life."
Speakers closed by calling the event "a day of celebration" that brought students together. "It just brings people together. Just a day of celebration with our students out there on the soccer field," Commenter 2 said.
