LaSalle County subcommittee members on Oct. 23 voted to forward a prospective finance director candidate to the county finance committee, approved minutes from the previous meeting and declined to enter executive session.
The meeting was called to order at 10:30 a.m. and proceeded with a roll call. Members approved a motion to accept the minutes from the previous meeting; the motion was moved by Steve and seconded by Mister Emmett and carried on a voice vote. Later in the session, Mister Emmett moved and Mister Bailey seconded a motion to forward a prospective finance director candidate to the county finance committee; members voted in favor and the motion carried by voice vote. The subcommittee then moved to adjourn.
Members also discussed whether to enter executive session. One member moved that the subcommittee ‘‘not go through executive session.’’ The transcript records discussion that an executive session was unnecessary; no formal executive-session vote or separate recorded outcome beyond the members’ decision not to proceed into executive session appears in the meeting record.
The meeting record does not identify vote tallies by name; outcomes were recorded by voice vote and announced as carried. No ordinances, resolutions or contracts were considered at this meeting and no legal authorities were cited during the discussion.
The meeting concluded after the motions were carried and the chairperson adjourned the meeting.
