Officers from the Goldendale Middle School Future Farmers of America (FFA) presented the chapter’s recent activities to the Goldendale City Council, describing student-led events designed to build leadership, community engagement and career readiness.
The presentation summarized several student projects from the past year, including communication and career-pathway exercises, a recycling fundraiser that purchased eco-friendly containers for a local soup kitchen, a Valentine’s Day card and lunch for seniors, a community dinner event with stations teaching about beef, dairy, wheat and other commodities, and a fundraiser to help members afford official FFA jackets.
Chapter officers identified themselves by name and role. Daniel Paimon introduced the group; founding adviser Randy Creek joined them. Emily Glennon, the 2025–26 Greenhand president, Sofia Jackson, state secretary, and Lily Oswald, Greenhand reporter, described the chapter’s work. The students said the "Baking for Blue Jackets" fundraiser exceeded its $900 goal by $277 and sold 21 dozen desserts in three hours.
The council and mayor praised the students. When asked how the extra funds would be used, a student answered that money raised by "Baking for Blue Jackets" would help pay for jackets and could also be used to buy shoes or dress shirts for students in need.
Council members and the mayor repeatedly thanked the students and encouraged continued community engagement.
