ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Maryland Senate on Wednesday adopted a cosponsor amendment to Senate Bill 533, a police accountability measure addressing time limits for filing administrative charges.

A senator from the 27th District offered the cosponsor amendment and explained it briefly to the chamber; the amendment was distributed and then adopted "without objection." The clerk was directed to have the amendment printed and the desk was ordered prepared for the bill's third reading. No roll-call vote was recorded on the amendment during Wednesday's session.

The chamber later noted joint committee hearings on education and budget-related bills and other calendar items; SB533 will proceed through the normal floor schedule toward third reading.
