The special magistrate ordered property owners Sherry Wingler and Mary Adams to bring 1079 Covington Street into compliance by Nov. 20, 2025, removing trailers, campers or other prohibited stored vehicles from the driveway and street, and warned that repeat violations could result in increased fines.
Lindsay Longstreet, a City of Oviedo code enforcement officer, presented a 27‑page file documenting repeated occurrences at the property dating to May 2024. Longstreet summarized prior inspections showing an RV in the driveway on May 30, 2024; a dump trailer on Aug. 27, 2024; and multiple later notices and reinspections. Longstreet said notices and a notice of hearing were served and that the property had an extensive history of recurring violations. "We are here today to discuss the property of 1079 Covington Street as it has had many numerous reoccurring same violations at this property," Longstreet told the magistrate.
Longstreet said inspectors had verified prior compliance after some occurrences but that most recently a dump trailer appeared again on Sept. 16, 2025. The city's packet included certified mail receipts, returned green cards, photographs and an affidavit of posting for the notice of hearing.
The magistrate ordered compliance by Nov. 20, 2025, and set fines to begin at $100 per day if the property was not brought into compliance by that date. The magistrate also stated that future violations would be treated as repeat violations, which could increase fines (the magistrate indicated repeat violations likely would double fines). The hearing record does not show owners present in person at the Oct. 23 hearing.
The case is recorded as CE25-000712 on the special magistrate docket.
