Board members celebrated the Moss branch’s 10th anniversary and discussed outreach and publicity for library programs.

A branch staff member and other speakers said Moss recently “celebrated a 10 year anniversary” with community activities and an afternoon event that drew “300 people.” One board member suggested organizing a formal proclamation or ceremony in early 2025, saying, “why don't we do something in 2025? Like, maybe in January, and and do a ceremony, and bring the council member and bring and do a proclamation of the 10 year anniversary.” Staff noted the branch originally opened on Dec. 4, 2014.

Members discussed how library publicity is handled: flyers in branches, Facebook and Instagram posts, and media releases routed through the city public-information office (PIO). Staff said that when a media release was picked up by local station KBMS it led to on-air coverage; board members noted that outreach to seniors remains a priority and that some patrons still rely on printed flyers or the newspaper rather than social media.

No formal recognition by the mayor or council was scheduled; the board asked staff to explore a proclamation and to coordinate with the council member’s office and the PIO if a ceremony is planned.
