Selectmen approve $10.33 million in 2024 encumbrances

The Wolfeboro Board of Selectmen voted to encumber up to $10,333,046.05 for 2024 to cover ongoing multi-year projects and other departmental commitments.

Selectmen discussed whether the dollar amount of encumbrances was typical; staff and one selectman said last yearencumbrances were about $11 million and that the current total reflects several large, multi-year projects.

A motion to encumber a not-to-exceed $10,333,046.05 for 2024 was made and seconded; the board approved the motion by voice vote.

The motion instructs the finance office and department heads to hold the specified encumbrances for project completion and to present any adjustments during normal budget or contract review processes.
