During public comment at the Dec. 30 Wolfeboro Board of Selectmen meeting, a resident asked the board to formally address a hazardous section of Stoner Road and raised concerns about water-line terminations referenced in recent zoning applications.
The speaker said trees recently marked for removal left a steep, unseen drop at a bend on Stoner Road (near a church) and asked the board to consider guardrail installation or another barrier, noting existing tree markings and a nearby drainage hole that could be concealed by snow. The resident said they filed an earlier notice with the town clerk and planned to provide photos to the board for follow-up.
The resident also said there have been applications to the Zoning Board of Adjustment that appear to highlight problems at the ends of public water lines; they asked town staff to monitor upcoming ZBA cases and coordinate any necessary responses.
Selectmen acknowledged the comment and asked the resident to provide photographs and documentation to the town so staff can assess the location and consider whether the issue should be included in road-repair or capital budgeting discussions.
