Board approves second reading of new/revised policies; motion passes 6–0

The board conducted the second reading of several new and revised policies introduced at the July 8 meeting. Dr. Evan Fields presented the item and said staff had updated policies to remove redundancies and to align language with model policies from the North Carolina School Boards Association.

A motion to adopt the presented policies was moved by Mr. Dennison and seconded by Ms. Carter. The board then voted in favor of adopting the set of policy changes; the transcript records the motion carrying with an aye vote and the clerk announcing "Motion carries 6 0."

No substantive amendments were recorded during the discussion. Staff and board members indicated the revised policies remove duplication and clarify language; adopted policy documents will be posted with board minutes and the clerk will reflect the changes in district policy manuals.
