City of Lacey launches first Community Academy; applications due Jan. 31

The City of Lacey announced a new Community Academy, a six-week, Thursday-evening course intended to give residents a closer look at how the city operates. The city said applications are open through Jan. 31 and the program runs Feb. 20 through March 27.

City staff said participants will meet city council members, city leaders and staff, take behind-the-scenes tours and learn about municipal operations and ways to get involved. The announcement described the program as an “interactive, hands-on” course aimed at increasing transparency and public engagement.

Officials encouraged interested residents to apply via the city’s website before the Jan. 31 deadline. The announcement did not specify tuition or participant limits.
