The Pocatello City Council voted to accept bids and award contracts for tree pruning and removal at Mountain View Cemetery, authorizing the mayor to sign related documents subject to legal review.
The council approved awarding Top Notch Trees a contract in the amount of $124,400 and Inter Mountain Tree Service a contract in the amount of $39,600. City staff stated funding for the project is provided through the U.S. Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry Grant. The award also authorizes the mayor’s signature on pertinent documents, including change orders, subject to review by the city’s legal department.
Council member Cheatham moved to approve the bid acceptance and award as described in agenda item 7; Council member Mansfield seconded. The city clerk called the roll and the motion carried on recorded yes votes.
Why it matters: The project uses grant funding to maintain cemetery trees, a long‑term maintenance need described by Parks and Public Services staff. The legal department will review contracts and any change orders before signature.
