Missoula County commissioners approved a petition on Jan. 2, 2025, to annex a parcel located at 13398 Highway 200 East in Bonner into the Missoula Rural Fire District.

County Clerk and Recorder staff member Sam Scott told the board the petition was signed by property owners representing more than 40% of the acreage and taxable value of the land to be annexed and that notice of the hearing had been published twice in the Missoulian. “The petition has been signed by property owners who represent more than 40% of the acreage and of the taxable value of the property to be annexed,” Scott said.

That presentation prompted a motion to approve the annexation, which commissioners seconded and approved by voice vote. No public comment was offered during the hearing.

The parcel is described in county records as tract 1 of COS 5717, located in Section 18, Township 13 North, Range 17 West; the physical address presented to the board was 13398 Highway 200 East, Bonner 59823. The board’s action accepts the county clerk’s presentation that procedural requirements for the hearing and owner notification were met.

Because the board’s approval was recorded by voice vote, the meeting record does not include a roll-call tally in the transcript; commissioners indicated assent with “Aye.”
