The Sign Advisory Committee approved a carved mahogany projecting sign for ES Beauty Lounge (ES Beauty Lounge) on Oct. 21, provided the existing bracket is reversed and installed in a traditional orientation.
Applicant Bob Granigrade, representing the sign shop, told the committee the proposed sign would be "carved, mahogany, and painted" and match the size of the neighboring sign. Committee members confirmed the dimensions (26 inches by 18 inches) met the four-square-foot limit. "I mean, I have no problem with the sign. I just wanna make sure it's the proper size that we're allowed," said Ben Norman.
Motion and vote: A motion to approve as submitted with the existing bracket flipped passed unanimously: Kevin Koester — yes; Ben Norman — yes; Paul Wolf — yes; Mark Catone — yes; Chris Young — yes. Outcome: approved (condition: flip and mount bracket in traditional format).
Why this matters: The approval permits a new business sign to replace an existing blade bracket at an in-town location. Committee members emphasized compliance with size rules and asked the applicant to correct the bracket installation before mounting.
