During the Jan. 13 morning hour, the Senate recorded a series of committee meeting announcements and adjourned its session until 12 noon on Jan. 14.
The clerk read committee announcements including a time change for the Committee on Commerce and Labor (meeting at 1 p.m. in Senate Room A, GAB), a Finance and Appropriations subcommittee on economic development and natural resources at 4:30 p.m. (13th floor, GAB), the Northern Virginia delegation caucus at 5 p.m. in House Room 1000 (10th floor, GAB), and additional subcommittee meetings on Jan. 14 (finance and appropriations subcommittee on general government at 7:30 a.m.). The clerk’s recitation listed committee chairs and members where provided.
Senator Serravel requested that members of Courts of Justice meet at her desk after adjournment to discuss scheduling for a makeup meeting and noted she would compile and transmit feedback on the new Legislative Information System (LIS) to DLAS by letter. Senator McDougall asked members of his side to remember a 5 p.m. meeting that day, and he asked the journal to reflect that the senator from King George was absent for pressing personal business.
At the close of the morning hour, Senator Lucas moved that the Senate adjourn until 12 noon on Jan. 14. The motion passed by voice vote with the chair noting the ayes had it, and the clerk recorded the Senate adjourned until noon the next day.
