Pueblo County commissioners on Jan. 2 approved a resolution extending the deadline for a 2022 American Rescue Plan Act subrecipient agreement with the Beulah Water Works District so the district can complete a pipe replacement project.
County Attorney Cynthia Mitchell told the Board of County Commissioners the county previously provided two ARPA contributions to the Beulah Water Works District, one in 2022 and one in 2023, and that the board had in November extended the 2023 agreement. The resolution before the board on Jan. 2 would extend the 2022 agreement to Dec. 31, 2025, to allow additional time for project completion.
The extension was approved by voice vote. Commissioners moved and seconded the motion and all present responded "aye," which the clerk recorded as the motion passing.
During the meeting the board also approved two consent-resolutions without discussion: a resolution designating how the county will post notice of public meetings for calendar year 2025 (posting on the county website and in the courthouse rotunda) and a resolution appointing members to the Pueblo County Community Corrections Board. Both consent items were approved by voice vote.
The meeting included a brief public-comment reading from staff of an emailed comment from Alvis Martinez that touched on community questions about local sports and praise for commissioners. Commissioners opened the meeting with brief holiday remarks and no substantive public testimony was offered in the chamber.
The board adjourned after the actions; the next meeting date was announced as Dec. 7 (date provided in the transcript as stated by the chair).
